Phone mode is free. No TV app, QR pairing or subscription required.

TV MODE · THREE QUICK STEPS

Connect. Translate. Play.

  1. 01

    Scan the QR

    Open TranslaCat TV on your television. On a phone on the same network, scan the QR code once; the camera is only for this pairing step.

  2. 02

    Open Remote Play

    Select PS5 or Xbox Remote Play in TranslaCat. The game picture comes to your phone; select the original subtitle area in that picture.

  3. 03

    Back to the game

    Complete the free HDMI test, choose your language and start translating in TV mode. Translations appear over the game on your TV.

TV compatibility

Is your setup compatible?

The operating system matters more than the brand. Check Settings > About on your TV.

This checks basic requirements, not model-specific compatibility. You still need the HDMI test.

Installation and file verification

Transfer the APK to your TV on a USB drive and open it in a file manager. Allow installation and display over other apps. Scan the TV QR code once with your phone; the camera is only for QR pairing. Complete the free HDMI test. Open PS5 or Xbox Remote Play in TranslaCat and start translating in TV mode.

Requires a compatible built-in Android TV / Google TV. External boxes cannot overlay another HDMI input. This is a development-signed test package, not a store release.
